THE LOS ANGELES COMMITTEE WANTS YOU TO COME HOME TO LOS ANGELES!
As men returning home following WWII began to explore their new understanding of
sexual freedom, they laid the foundations of what would become our leather culture.
Leather bars adopted the aesthetic of the motorcycle clubs that had begun to form
as early as 1954. The Satyrs Motor Cycle club, based in Los Angeles is the longest
continuously organized gay club in the United States and has been a keystone in
the development of what we know think of as our leather community. LA's leather
community is vibrant, diverse, and hosting LLC XV.
Participants in the Lost Angels Leather Leadership Conference are coming home. They
will find a well-established and welcoming leather community anxious to host them
in one of the places where the fun began. Clubs and organizations, bars and clubs,
and some of the world leaders in leather clothing and gear are waiting and excited
to host our family reunion in April.
In addition to an outstanding line up of presentations,
participants can enjoy an exciting opportunities to socialize, they can finally
get a pair of chaps that fit them "just right", they can see the original art work
at the Tom of Finland Foundation, and a host of other activities.

APPLY TO BECOME A BOARD MEMBER FOR THE NATIONAL LLC BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Every year, starting in March and ending on May 15 at 9 pm PST, the National Board
of Directors of the Leather Leadership Conference actively seeks applications to
fill upcoming vacancies and openings to the Board.
There are 9 Board positions, each 3 years in length. These positions are are grouped
so that three position terms come up for election every year. This ensures continuity
in the experience and positions on the Board for organizational stability. No Board
Member may serve more than 2 consecutive 3-year terms. There is no guarantee that
any board member re-applying for a second term will be elected - so all applications
are encouraged. It is the goal of the Board of Directors to ensure that we have
the best team possible to meet the upcoming goals.

WORK WITH YOUR COMMUNITY TO BID TO HOST THE 2014 LEATHER LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE!
Leather Leadership Conference, Inc. (LLC, Inc.) annually seeks bids to host the
Leather Leadership Conference. We look for vibrant cities with active BDSM/Leather/Kink/Fetish
communities. We choose locations that display a commitment to diversity by involving
many groups and individuals.
We are happy to discuss potential bids and the bid process at any time. The deadline
for receipt of bids for 2013 is July 1, 2010. The Host of the Annual Conference
is announced on September 1 of each year, giving the host city roughly thirty months
to plan the event.

GREED AND FINANCIAL BASED LEARNING CLASSES - FIRST OF THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS THAT
CAN BE FOUND IN LOS ANGELES THIS APRIL!
The tracks for this year's Leather Leadership Conference are organized around the
theme of the 7 Deadly Sins. Hey, its not always a perfect match but we are taking
the Los Angeles creative license and having some fun with the concept. Take a look
at GREED for example...
One of the most important tracks for leaders is the is the track that deals with
the financial responsibilities for 501(c)3 organizations. While some leaders have
extensive training in financial affairs, most of us do not. If you can't read the
P&L of your club or organization (or if you don't know what we are talking about),
you could have a serious problem. In the last couple of years, the IRS regulations
and requirements for not-for-profit organizations has become increasingly complicated.
Protecting hard earned assets with proper procedures and policies has become increasingly
problematic.
The GREED track will offer conference attendees a chance to gain skills to help
them meet their fiduciary responsibilities as leaders in the leather community.
Presentations will range from expert levels for those with considerable experience
to beginning level presentation that can help new leaders understand what they need
to know to protect their club or organization. This is a unique opportunity to work
with community leaders who have extensive skills and experience in the area of not-for-profit
finances.

WRATH AND LEADERSHIP BASED LEARNING CLASSES - SECOND OF THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS THAT
CAN BE FOUND IN LOS ANGELES THIS APRIL!

you are desperately hanging on to? How many times have you thought..."I don't want
to do this anymore?"
Sometimes the burden of leadership obscures the simple fact that for most of us
this is what we do for fun. When it stops being fun something is wrong. This year's
Leather Leadership Conference is a chance for you to re-charge your batteries and
explore you options.
Most leaders have moments when they feel overwhelmed and think of quitting. If you

Still trying to decide about coming the Leather Leadership Conference in Los Angeles?

LOS ANGELES WORKS TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY TO OVERCOME NEGATIVE REACTIONS TO THE
TOM OF FINLAND EROTIC ART FESTIVAL!
Recent events in the Los Angeles Area have involved the leather community. When
the West Hollywood City Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission (ACAC) voted NOT to
support the Tom of Finland Erotic Art Festival traditionally held in March and
a part of the Los Angeles Leather Weekend it was an opportunity for real leadership.
The ACAC's vote was quickly repudiated by the City Council who expressed their consternation
and confusion about the vote and their intention to continue to support the festival
as they have for more than a decade.
The Los Angeles leather community responded by filling the City Council meeting
and expressing their thoughts about the commission's vote. The City Council listened
attentively as speakers from the leather community expressed their thoughts and
suggestions about how to resolve this "misunderstanding".
Art from the Tom of Finland Foundation and other collections will be available for
viewing during the Leather Leadership Conference in Los Angeles. Many of the iconic
images associated with our leather esthetic are housed in the foundation's collections
and the collections of members of the local leather community. Come see what the
"drama" was all about.

THE LLC XV LOCAL ORGANIZING COMMITTEE ALONG WITH THE LLOYD RUSSELL FOUNDATION OFFERS
SCHOLARSHIPS TO LLC-XV in LOS ANGELES
The LLoyd Russell Foundation has generously gifted the Local Organizing Committee
with monies to provide full and partial scholarships to cover the cost of registration
to the up-coming LLC-XV in Los Angeles, the weekend of April 8 - 10, 2011. Hotel
and travel expenses are not included with these scholarships. These scholarships
are open to anyone who completes and application and who has not already received
a scholarship to LLC XV.
Applications will be available on line as of February 20, with scholarships accepted
until the deadline of March 15, 2011. Those awarded will be notified by March 25,

The LLC XV TEAM PROMISES NO SNOW IN APRIL IN LOS ANGELES, CA!
The Los Angeles Local Organizing Committee for the 2011 Leather Leadership Conference
guarantees that it will NOT snow during the 15th Annual Conference. For our east
coast friends we want you to know that we have been watching the news reports of
the weather crisis in other parts of the country and are aware of the challenges
you have been facing. Of course, we should point out that we have been watching
the news sitting outdoors by the hot tub or the pool.
For those of you who are ready to take a break from the cold we want to invite you
to Los Angeles and to the Kyoto Grand hotel in the heart of LA. The Kyoto Grand

- DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS MARCH 1, 2010
There is always a poster session throughout the Annual Conference. This is an excellent
way to promote your club, business, or organization - or to showcase specific projects
that are on-going. We also welcome poster sessions for topics related to the tracks
found with workshops, that may not have been accepted for workshops, or that may
showcase research projects or information that are of interest to people who are
leaders or interested in enhancing their skills and knowledge as leaders.
The Leather Leadership Conference is requesting your proposals for poster sessions
during the 15th Annual Conference to be hosted in Los Angeles, CA on April 8 to
10, 2011. We are using a new all-web based submission process and will not be accepting
proposals or submissions by email this year. Directions on how to use the on-line

THE LLC-XV LOS ANGELES CONFERENCE CONFIRMS THREE KEYNOTE SPEAKERS!
The Los Angeles Local Organizing Commitee is excited to announce the confirmation
of all three keynote speakers for the April Conference.
The Conference will open Friday evening with Guy Baldwin helping start the weekend
off with a bang. This is a must see evening - with incredible entertainment planned
and a highly anticipated speech from Guy Baldwin.
After a morning of intense workshops, Annie Romano will be speaking over Saturday's
lunch time, getting you all revved up for the afternoon of more incredible learning
opportunities!
Sunday morning will start a little later to let you recover from your Saturday evening
festivities - followed by the third keynote speaker, the current International Mr.
Leather, Tyler McCormick. As a special treat this year, workshops will continue
until late in the afternoon - giving those who want to stay Sunday - a full day
of amazing information to learn.

THE LLC NATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS EXTENDS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION DEADLINE TO
JANUARY 20, 2011
The National Board of Directors of the Leather Leadership Conference, Inc. is
pleased to announce that it is offering 12 full scholarships to cover the cost
of registration to the up-coming LLC-XV in Los Angeles, the weekend of April 8
- 10, 2011.
Due to recent website problems, the application deadline has been extended from
January 15 to January 20, 2011. Those awarded will be notified by January 30,
2011. If you have already registered for the conference, you can be reimbursed
for your registration fee.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR THE LLC XV CONFERENCE!
Volunteers for various assignments are needed for Leather Leadership Conference
XV - Los Angeles. This is a perfect opportunity for those already attending to assist
in a wide variety of opportunities and meet leaders from across the US and Canada.
If you are interested in volunteering send a note to volunteer@leatherleadership.org.
Opportunities for volunteering will end very soon.
It is the dedicated volunteers, seen and unseen, who help make every conference
a success. If you are one of those people who are excited to get in there and help
