Leather Leadership Conference, Inc. (LLC, Inc.) annually seeks bids to host the Leather Leadership Conference. We look for vibrant cities with active BDSM/Leather/Kink/Fetish communities. We choose locations that display a commitment to diversity by involving many groups and individuals.

We are happy to discuss potential bids and the bid process at any time. The deadline for receipt of bids for 2014 is September 1, 2011.

The Host of the Annual Conference is announced before March of the year following receipt of the bid application, giving the host city roughly twenty four months to plan the event.

The bidding process is extremely competitive. Multiple bids are received every year - it is the responsibility of the Board of Directors to ensure that the best possible bid application will be selected. Any bids that are not accepted - we strongly urge and encourage you to apply again in following years. We welcome the opportunity to work with you to help you improve your bid in the future.

A typical process for putting together a bid to host the Leather Leadership Annual Conference includes:

  • Interested individuals from your city or region get together to discuss the possibility of being hosts for the Annual Conference.
  • The potential Local Organizing Committees (LOC) are welcome, encouraged, and invited to speak with members of the Board of Directors, members of current and former Local Organizing Committees, Emeriti of the board, and other people involved with the Leather Leadership Conference to gain additional information and ask questions to assist in the process of putting together the bid and deciding to host the conference.
  • Bids are due in electronic form to the Board of Directors no later than midnight Pacific Standard Time by email.
  • The LLC Board of Directors reviews bids received and will contact each bid committee for an interview by web conference and phone conference between mid September and the end of the year. All meetings will be scheduled in advance at times that work for both the potential LOC teams and the national Board. The National Board will provide the hosting site for all web based meetings and phone conferences.
  • The LLC Board of Directors reserves the right to contact any references or individuals listed in the bid for additional information.

After the Board has considered the information provided in the bid application, from meetings with the potential local organizing committees, and from the references provided, the Board will vote on who will be awarded to host the 2014 Conference. The decision will be made and provided to the local organizing committee and all other bidding parties in the February 2012 timeframe.

The Local Organizing Group that is awarded the hosting for the 2014 Annual Conference is expected to:

  • Participate in the poster session at the 2012 Annual Conference, with a poster to showcase your local community and resources, and let people know of the upcoming conference, and what your area has to offer.
  • Meet with the National Board, and the other local organizing committees at the 2012 Conference on Saturday evening.

At the 2012 Annual Conference, from the stage during the opening ceremonies, the location of the 2014 conference will be announced, as well as during the post-conference press release.
