Volunteer Opportunities
LEATHER LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE IX (LLC9) recognizes the value and contribution of volunteers to create a successful conference and is looking for volunteers to fulfill several key roles listed below. Click on each name to see a description of that volunteer position.
Volunteers are integral to the success of LLC9, providing logistic support and services. LLC9 recognizes this and promises to:
- Treat all volunteers with respect, regardless of position
- Respect the knowledge that volunteers bring and listen to ideas for making the conference better
Volunteers promise to:
- Demonstrate respect for others, including their sensitivities, rights, and sensibilities.
- Not engage in any inappropriate behavior while volunteering.
- Honor and support the efforts of fellow volunteers.
- Ask questions for understanding, and offer helpful suggestions instead of criticizing.
- Offer to do what they can -- and complete their assignments. Communicate what they can and can't do.
- Leave my ego at the door -- team effort is what counts here.
- Welcome people regardless of gender, race, origin, handicap, sexual orientation, religion, and any other characteristic.
LLC9 recognizes that different volunteers can contribute at different levels, involving abilities and time and that volunteering uses time that the volunteer might otherwise use to engage in the conference events. A scholarship schedule is being offered to volunteers based on the normal registration fee and time volunteered. This scholarship is not to be construed as compensation or a worker agreement as defined by local and state laws.
If you would like to volunteer please email your name, phone, email, which position(s) you are interested in and if you have preferred time to volunteer during the conference to volunteers@leatherleadership.org The volunteer coordinator will respond back within 24 hours with a special scholarship code for registration if we can find a way to utilize your services.
Given the importance of volunteers to the success of the conference, all volunteers are expected to be punctual and work their entire shifts. LLC9 recognizes that the loss of a volunteer means more work and unnecessary complications for other volunteers and reserves the right to rescind the scholarship should the above expectations not be met.
