"Oh the Places You'll Go: Finding Your Community"

Just moved to a new place for work? Fresh out of school and looking to explore? Just out of a relationship and looking to try all those things you told yourself was just a phase? Coming back to the community from a long hiatus? Finding your space and finding your community is a mountain of a task with heavy emotional and mental hurdles. Come join us and learn the steps to find, join, and even lead your community. Come see the places you can go once you’ve found your community.

Presented by Lady Kita

Kita currently holds a seat on the board of Whippersnappers, the local Atlanta TNG. Kita’s work with Whippersnappers has been focused primarily on diversifying and strengthening the youth of the community in their journey. Where she works to help create a place where the next generation will not feel discriminated against and have a welcoming community to call their own. It is Kita’s belief that the Leather and Kink communities’ openness and nondiscriminatory ideologies are the most positive and greatest attributes of the Communities. While the Community as a whole upholds this ideology, she feels it is also the responsibility of the individuals of the community to practice and share that acceptance of all people.

4:30 - 5:45 PM EST: Class 2

"So you want to start your own group?"

So you've looked around and thought, "Why isn't there a <Fill in the blank> group??!! I should make one!". A lot of us think we need more groups to fulfill a certain aspect of the community that is lacking, but to undertake this responsibility is no menial feat, nor a small amount of energy, money and time investment. As someone who has run, and started several groups, it's easy, and EXCITING to start. However, after the 5th month of work, money, energy and time spent on it, it can quickly become daunting and a serious drain on your resources (time, finances, energy, etc), resulting in quick burnout, and a failing group. In this class, we will discuss how to start, and maintain a group in a way that is as free from burden as possible, leaving you to enjoy the lifestyle, instead of becoming burnt out because of the lifestyle.

Presented by Jade Savage

Mistress Savage has been in the lifestyle for over 10 years, and her journey began in Hamburg Germany. While on vacation there, she was exposed to BDSM in a variety of ways for the first time and realized her new passion was born. After her taste in Germany, she spent the next decade in Los Angeles honing her skills as well as traveling to experience the lifestyle in different areas including Miami, San Francisco, and New York, to name a few. Mistress Savage enjoys many things in the lifestyle, including but not limited to, CBT, rope/any restraints, corporal punishment in any form, sensory deprivation, power exchanges, hypnosis, interrogation, pet play, edging, breath control, whips and more. She is also attracted to the mental/psychological aspects of the D/s dynamic and loves to both learn and teach many topics within the BDSM realm. Mistress Savage moved to the Charlotte, NC area at the end of 2014 and began to explore the BDSM scene in this area. In that time, she is a founding member of DoC (Dominae of the Carolinas) and current education director for CAPEX. She is joined in her D/s life with her primary submissive, Robert, with whom she has had an FLR for the past 6 years.
